Bakewell is gorgeous and this shop had the most amazing picture which I had to buy to capture my time here! Lucy who served us was an absolute charming young lady who made the experience even better! Great shop, wonderful staff and a beautiful location! Wholeheartedly recommend!

I love this store! I always find really unique gifts here and everything is beautifully displayed. Staff are friendly and attentive. I fell in love with this stunning floral wrapping paper to use for my Christmas gifts this year.

I was sent the wrong hat but the mix up was put right by Jo in a few days. She kept in touch with me personally and was delightful to deal with. My replacement rain hat is well made and flattering and I am about to order another in maroon.

Such a lovely little shop. It’s cosy, welcoming, and full of beautiful mugs, plates, and unique pottery pieces. You can tell everything’s been chosen with care. It just has such a warm, happy feel to it. I’ll definitely be popping back in.

I chanced upon The British Emporium whilst spending the weekend in Bakewell, Derbyshire. The staff in store were super friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable about their stock. I purchased a waxed cotton waterproof hat. Good looks and a great price.

We called in when we were staying in Over Haddon, and the lady in the shop was very friendly and chatty. We bought a few items in shop, but really liked the unusual coat hooks, as it suited us both very well. As soon as we got home, we ordered it online, and 3 days later, it was delivered, safe and sound.

Always make a point of visiting this shop when we’re in the area. The items for sale are lovely but the real value is the quality of the people who work there. Such wonderful, friendly people who make the experience so much better.
