Description
This stunning life size Redpoll bird ceramic sculpture by Karen Fawcett inspired by the beauty of the British countryside. Handmade from high fired ceramics and crafted at life size scale, each piece is unique, with slight differences in shape and colour. Every sculpture is full of character, making it a special and eye-catching work of art that celebrates the charm of nature. The sculpture depicts the Redpoll bird (Acanthis) species. They are found throughout the UK, ranging from willow flats to open conifer forest to open, weedy fields. This tiny finch - only slightly bigger than a blue tit - is streaky and brown with patches of red on its head and sometimes its breast. They like to hang upside down to feed in trees. It has recently been 'split' from the mealy (or common) Redpoll, a larger and paler species which is a winter visitor to the UK. Material: High Fired Ceramics, Matt Finish Pewter Legs Size: Sculpture Scale: 1:1 Features: All Karen Fawcett sculptures are unique with slight variations in shape and colouring resulting in a truly stunning piece that is as individual as the client who orders it. Sculptures based on detailed study, often with reference to real-life specimens. Crafted at a 1:1 scale to capture the subject exactly as you’d see it in the wild. Lifelike quality, as if the piece could move at any moment. Suitable for outdoor display. Durable and long-lasting material with a beautiful finish. Made in Great Britain Karen Fawcett is a talented sculptor who creates lifelike, hand-crafted works of art inspired by the British countryside. Through detailed study and visual observation she captures the beauty and character of her subjects with remarkable accuracy. Each sculpture is unique and affordable, offering not just a piece of art, but also a way to bring the essence of the natural world into the home.

Delightful to deal with

I was sent the wrong hat but the mix up was put right by Jo in a few days. She kept in touch with me personally and was delightful to deal with. My replacement rain hat is well made and flattering and I am about to order another in maroon.

I’ll be back!

I chanced upon The British Emporium whilst spending the weekend in Bakewell, Derbyshire. The staff in store were super friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable about their stock. I purchased a waxed cotton waterproof hat. Good looks and a great price.

Fantastic shop

We called in when we were staying in Over Haddon, and the lady in the shop was very friendly and chatty. We bought a few items in shop, but really liked the unusual coat hooks, as it suited us both very well. As soon as we got home, we ordered it online, and 3 days later, it was delivered, safe and sound.

Wonderful, friendly people

Always make a point of visiting this shop when we’re in the area. The items for sale are lovely but the real value is the quality of the people who work there. Such wonderful, friendly people who make the experience so much better.
