1792104269-45b2523b
The Rugby Football Match Silk Pocket Square

The Football Match' is a unique and high-quality silk pocket square in blue, green & red with hand-sewn hem. It was created using artist Roy de Maistre's rugby football painting 'The Football Match'. Presented in a complimentary gift box, it makes a great gift for any rugby fan. It has been created using the rugby football painting 'The Football Match' by Australian modernist artist Roy de Maistre CBE in collaboration with its owner, the Janet Holmes à Court Collection in Perth, and Roy de Maistre's Estate. De Maistre (1894-1968) was a pioneer of modern Australian art; he experimented with linking colours of the spectrum to notes of the musical scale, 'colour-music', and he was recognised as the first Australian artist to use pure abstraction. Works produced following his permanent move to London in 1930 were in a figurative style and based on his interpretation of Cubism.

In Macclesfield, the home of English silk printing, the artwork is reproduced with great care. This enables an excellent balance of design colour & clarity between the printed and reverse sides of the AAA quality Mulberry silk twill, ensuring the pocket square looks perfect whichever fold is used. The image is framed by the pocket square’s blue grey border and the skilfully hand-rolled & hand-sewn 'shoestring' hem in blue. The overall quality of this pocket square from the UK's leading maker is what you would normally expect to find only on London's Savile Row or Jermyn Street.

'The Football Match' is presented in a complimentary Otway & Orford branded gift box with its blueberry-coloured lid and pale blue base. Inside each box, the stylish rugby silk pocket square is tissue-wrapped and accompanied by a card telling the story of the artist and his vibrant artwork.

PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 7 DAYS FOR DISPATCH

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1072/4530/6188/files/TheRugbyFootballMatch-BlueGreenRed1.jpg?v=1792421262
